Te Akoranga a M膩ui
Te Akoranga a M膩ui is the College鈥檚 M膩ori representative group. With more than 200 members, they are proud to be the first indigenous representative group established in any Australian or 麻豆视频入口 medical college.
All College members who self-identity as M膩ori and have M膩ori whakapapa automatically belong to the group.
This M膩ori GP representative group provides support and whanaungatanga for our membership, and cultural and clinical advice on M膩ori health issues through its representation on the College Board and committees.
Te Akoranga a M膩ui is led by Kaihut奴 | Chair Dr Jason Tuhoe (Hauraki, Ng膩 Puhi, Ng膩ti Pikiao), and Kaihut奴 Tuarua | Deputy Chair, Dr Nina Bevin (Waikato-Tainui).

About the name Te Akoranga a M膩ui
The name of Te Akoranga a M膩ui holds special significance for its members and for the College. M膩ui refers to , the first M膩ori doctor to graduate from any medical school, and Akoranga means teaching, learning and education. T膩 M膩ui P艒mare was one of the early M膩ori leaders, educated in the 1890鈥檚, who went on to assume positions of leadership both in the M膩ori and P膩keh膩 worlds.
