As a hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeon at NYU’s Perlmutter Cancer Center, I am dedicated to providing care with a focus on precision and empathy. My approach involves open communication, ensuring that my patients feel heard and supported throughout their treatment journey. I take the time to listen to my patients’ concerns, answer their questions, and explain their treatment options in a way that is easy to understand.

I specialize in treating patients with complex conditions of the liver, bile ducts, pancreas, and stomach, including liver cancer, bile duct cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, and non-cancerous tumors from these organs. Our team at NYU Langone is at the forefront of surgical innovation, particularly in the use of robotic-assisted surgery and histotripsy, an exciting new technology that treats liver tumors without the need for an incision. This noninvasive, precise technique destroys diseased cells using ultrasound waves while preserving healthy liver tissue.

My journey into medicine was driven by a passion for helping people and making a meaningful difference in their lives. I chose to specialize in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery because these areas present some of the most challenging and rewarding cases in medicine. Treating diseases in these areas requires precision, dedication, and a deep understanding of advanced surgical techniques. I am driven by the opportunity to offer hope and healing to patients facing serious conditions.

In addition to caring for patients, I am involved in research studies aimed at improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes. Currently, I lead a team in investigating how we can safely incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) techniques into the surgical care of our patients. With this technology, we will manage surgical complications better and create an early warning system to prevent complications before they occur, both in the operating room and after surgery.
