As an obstetrician and gynecologist at NYU Langone, I am especially passionate about improving responses to obstetric emergencies like hemorrhage and hypertensive crises, the key drivers of maternal mortality. At NYU Langone's Tisch Hospital, I am a patient safety officer, fully available to provide assistance and oversight for all patients in labor and delivery.

Within this specialized program, I focus on protocols and culture that prioritize the safety of patients and providers in the hospital during labor and delivery. I provide around-the-clock advanced oversight and clinical care to all our patients in labor and delivery, including women with high-risk pregnancies. I also provide crucial support to patients who arrive without a physician and offer consultative expertise as needed.

I believe in empowering patients through shared decision-making, always explaining the what, why, and how of any given problem to ensure successful outcomes. To achieve our safety goals, much of my work revolves around simulation, team training, and enforcing evidence-based guidelines. If complications arise, I work with the patient’s attending physician to provide care that ensures the best, safest outcome.

At NYU Langone, we are the only patient safety program in the United States to offer this level of care.
